Beklemeto Pass, also known as Troyan Pass, is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1.520m (4,987ft) above the sea level, situated in the Balkan Mountains, Bulgaria. The pass is traversed by the Road 35.

The road over the pass connects Troyan and Karnare on the Karlovo Plain. The name of the region has Turkish origin and means guard. A guarding tower was probably situated there in the past. On the summit there’s a ski resort. The pass is on one of the main roads connecting northern and southern Bulgaria. This was the Roman Via Trayana (Trajan road).

The road still remains an adrenaline-pumping journey and is definitely not for the faint of lungs, heart, or legs. Close to the pass there is a monument dedicated to the liberation struggle of the Bulgarians on the peak of Goraltepe. The top of the monument is a plot which offers incredible views in all directions. The monument arch marks the feat of the Russian Solders. “In the chilly January in 1878, the Russian detachment attacks the pass. Despite of the deep snow, and chilly weather, they conquered the pass.”
